bb -if you plan on possibly buying - they will price match, so bring the lowest Internet price you can find with you printed out and they will match it.

I think I have (or can get) a few $10.00 off Dicks Sporting Goods coupons so if you're near one of those they have the 565 for $199.00 so it'd be $189.00 no shipping no sales tax.

What are the dates for the fishfest at KTP? I'll have to head up there then to pick up a 565 for me.

I was playing with the 525 & 565 today. It seemed like the 525 had better contrast.. but it could have been glare from store lighting. Not sure what the difference is feature wise, but I probably would have went with the 525 if I was looking to buy.

I called Hummingbird to inquire about the transducer exchange program. They explained the following.

*Its best to call them ahead of time and get a customer id # and tell them your sending in the stock transducer for exchange

* Exchanging the 565 stock transducer for a plastic thru hull transducer (XTH 920 P Plastic Transducer ... fyi this fits the OC Prowler 13 transducer recess in the scupper) will cost an extra $24.00 that you need to send in either check or money order

* You need to send them the stock transducer and mounting hardware, the check for the difference in price and a brief note explaining the exchange with your customer id #

* Its a 3-5 day turnaround once Hummingbird receives the exchange request

Newbyaker,

It was the Hummingbird customer service # that I called. I know they have other thru hull transducers, but I'm not sure if there for different yaks. Some of the transducer photos don’t come up on their site. The newer OC Prowlers are Hummingbird compatible with a recess in the bottom of one rear scupper hole. I told Hummingbird what I had for a yak and they recommended the XTH 920 P Plastic Transducer. I looked at the photo of the transducer on their web site, compared it to the shape and depth of the recess on my yak and saw that they should match up.
