Hey guys,

Looked at the 10 day forecast today. It read "thunder showers". I know that at times, when they're only giving it 30-40% probability, the thunder showers are often "late day". I think we'll be encountering some "blah" daytime weather, maybe with spells with no rain, and then some later-day rain. That's often been my observations with this kind of forecast. But then again, Marty Angstrom I'm NOT!!! 8O  But like Roger said, I'd rather fish with cloud cover too. If the rain holds off, we should see some action.

It doesn't sound like we'll be a very big group. But I think that's okay. We'll have plenty of water to ourselves. :D Looking foward to it. See you on Friday.

Good news from the KTP fishing report for you guys, I hope the weather holds out for you.....

In New Hampshire’s northernmost town, Pittsburg, Cindy Caron Howe at Tall Timber on Back Lake reports she’s seen some tremendous fishing on this lake. “It’s been ridiculous! Lots of fish and several big brookies over four pounds. The Connecticut Lakes and inlets and outlets are still providing some good salmon fishing and the Connecticut River flow is good right now. My husband (guide) John had a party wade fishing on the Trophy section of the river over the weekend and they did very well.â€

WOW! I had a fantastic time! :banana

Friday morning NH Explorer, Bigboy & myself arrived in rainy Pittsburg. Yakbutt & Scottinme were already set up & ready to lend us a hand setting up. After pulling out my ezup for a quick shelter, NH took me moose "hunting". We planned on killing time while we waited for the rain to stop so we could set up our tents & dig out the fishing gear. I think NH had planned on going, but didn't fill me in until we were up there.
Now, I've never seen one in person & really didn't expect to find any, but we saw quite a few. I'm still amazed at seeing those huge creatures up close & in the wild. We also spotted deer, rabbits, a turkey & a bear crossed our path on the return home too.

We finally got on the water Friday afternoon. I manage to catch a couple Creek Chubs. They were fun to catch, but not quite what I was after. Also had a couple bumps & rises, but couldn't hook up.

Saturday morning, after more hunting, took in a fly fishing course with NH at Lopstick Lodge. It was an intro to fly fishing, but I did pick up a couple things. Casting into a farm pond with stocked trout, without a fly, allowed me to try different adjustments to my casts without worrying about the fish. The fun there really started when we started using "flies" & tried hooking into the fish amidst massive boils. The frenzy was caused by food pellets being thrown into the water  Hooking & landing a trout, on a barb less hook was more difficult than expected. Laughing my tail off might have had something to do with the difficulty. Or it could have been the bruiser cruising the shore ignoring our flies....the bruiser finally landed to the amazement of the staff & participants by our very own NH Explorer. :banana
Saturday around noon, we met up with the crew on 3rd Conn lake. It's situated about 2000' above sea level, just shy of Canada. There were quite a few tactics being used by us and some boats, but the only thing biting were the flies. Still, it was a great afternoon on the water & a good way to work up an appetite for the BBQ.
Plenty of delicious food & good company for the bbq. (Scott, any Crab Rangoons left?) Having family attend was very nice & hopefully more will come to future gatherings.
Sunday we decided to pack up the tents early & go fish before the rains started. After saying farewell for now, NH & myself ended up hitting a small trout pond for a bit. It was a fly fishing only pond where fresh casting knowledge was practiced. Although the trout didn't cooperate, we both had another good time.

The fishing was off, but it really didn't matter to me. I can't wait to go back. The experience is awe inspiring. Lack of cell service means you are truly unplugged. Boredom never sets in with so much to see & water to fish.

Thank you Bigboy, Scott & family, Yakbutt, Brenda & Roger, it was a lot of fun!

That's all for now...enjoy some pics :D
