2012 Striper Shoot out Junior Div.

Last year there were a few kids that would have liked to have participated. Could there maybe be a division for them this year? I would gladly give a donation to this, and to the tournament in general as I have in the past. Please let me know what I can do to help make this happen.

We looked into this last year and I am pretty sure this came down to an insurance issue as far as the cutoff age for who is/was covered.

I do not recall the exact details but am looking into this again and if it's feasible put it up for consideration.

Guy, I thought we discussed this at the board meeting and I think it was an insurance/liability issue. I will check the meeting minutes.

If this can't be done due to insurance reasons. I would like to do this at no liability to the NEKF. I will come up with the rules, and prizes at no cost to the junior participants. Last year there were at least three young kayak anglers out there that out fished some of the adult particapants in the tounament. This will not only give them something to look foward to, but give them some great memories to last a lifetime. All I would need from the NEKF would be a minute or two on the mic. at the awards ceremony.

That would be great. My 9 year old Catherine is stoked to fish in the JBay youth division (tandem yak) and would love it if Salem had a kids division. I understand the concerns though. Safety and insurance first.
