Nice job. Get a patent on it and sell it to hobie.

I had this same problem too and got it fixed by Hobie.
I contacted them about this thread because it appears that I'm not the only one this happened to. And typical of my Hobie experience, they said that they back their product!!
This was a problem with one of their vendors and there was a batch of carts where the welds have not held up as they were expected to, they said that they have already fixed the problem with their vendor and want to make it right by their customers.
So you can take your cart to a Hobie dealer who will check the cart to see that it is the welds that have broken and will replace the cart through the Hobie warranty process.
Props to Hobie for standing by their product!

After this post by Slappy I was a little sceptical and I had to hear it for myself so I called Hobie's home office. I talked with a Hobie Rep and he said that I should just bring it to any Hobie dealer and have them file a warranty claim. I just got back from Benson's Ski and Sport in NH and Dick couldn't have been nicer. He took my repaired cart and replaced it with this:

The first thing to do, if you ever have a problem with a Hobie product, is contact the dealer. 99 out of 100 times they will be able to get things straightened out for you.

Does anyone know if someone markets the cart that was put out by KFS before they went under? That frame is tough as nails and was wide enough that it didn't dump your yak and gear. http://www.kayakfishingstuff.com/drupal ... -v2-review

Ugly as sin but what a nice , stout cart ..wish they were still available . Hobie cart just had total weld failure tonight with my Revo , managed to fish up the cross member and temp bungied the thing together for the return to the car . Hoping my local Hobie dealer is accommodating.

Dude, I bought a cart from EMS, Seat to Summit. I think I can carry my truck on it. Heavy duty and breaks down into 4 peices for easy storage. Very cool design.

still like my "TUG" (c-tug)... got mine at the fly shop, he carries them now at the Bears Den... broken parts are shipping only. (feel like slappy, broke it several times already)
