Actually, this has changed for this year and camping is once again allowed on these sites. However, one concession we had to make for this year was to rent all but those three sites which were rented to Salem residents. I will try to get them next year but they are not available this year.

Last year when I reserved the sites, 25,26 & 27 were not available. Sometime after I reserved the available sites, the state allowed the use of these sites and Winter Island rented them out to other folks.

NH Explorer wrote:Guyza, 25,26,& 27 no longer exist. It isn't just for the shootout. The State of Mass ruled that the ratio of too many campsites to restroom/septic facilities was unacceptable. Therefore they had to cut some of the sites and those were some taken away.
I can put you in the igloo if you would like. I think some folks were down there to mistakes in the booking process.

KayakWilly.... I will put you in two spots in the Igloo but if there is just one person in each of those sites I would ask that you double up. We will undoubtedly run out of spots and I will be asking a lot of the single persons in a sight to share with another. If this is the case here, it might be easier to do from the get go. To get the best usage of sights, and therefore the most people able to camp, we need to utilize 1 tent with two people per site. Thanks

As far as RV spots go, those arrangements would have to be made through Winter Island. My gut feeling is that they might be reluctant to do that since they always have a full crowd for them. You could call them at the number at the beginning of this thread.

Willy, here's a shot of the igloo. Usually we get about ten vehicles and as many tents.

Sometimes, depending on how situated, it isn't possible to get a car out without removing others. If you need to for sure have in & out access for your vehicle, it can be parked in the main parking lot, about a 50 yard walk away.
