thinking of hitting the fresh for a carp/pike trip this week, weather permitting. last time i checked, the forecast for wednesday was 56ish and for thursday 59ish but that was a while back, so i'll have to check again. so far it's me & froggy. may be launching in bedford, concord river, same place we had the spring thing, but could be convinced to go elsewhere. have heard the sudbury river has some good size pike, but don't know where to launch, or if it holds any carp. also have heard of good size pike in the charles river. launch time is up in the air, but i'd like to get out early to see them carp sipping air. remember, slappy says "november is carp/pike fishing month".

we've been loosley planning a "CARPE DIEM" or "CARP CAPER" or "CARPALOOZA" for this month. our resident carpaholic has suggested, magazine beach in cambridge, plenty of parking, fish and no need to even launch the boats. what do y'all think?...................................rick
i may be crazy but it keeps me from going insane . hobie adventure, outback, cobra fish n dive and a cobra strike (surf kayak) www.belleislekayakadventures.com winner of the 2009 shootout

i went by the sudbury on saturday and it was already very high - so with the storm, i'd think it would be super high. it can be tough fishing when its high and the current is ripping because the fish tend to push back into the brush and spread out. as for launches, there's a good one off of 117 across from farrar pond.

thanks john, since the water is high i'm going to go to one of a couple of lakes with a good pike population instead.
