Can U put Turbo Fins on a Outback?

Do turbo Fins Make a big difference on a Outback?Are there Pro's & Cons. Just thinking out loud Again. Sully60 :?: :?: :?: :D :D :D

They always make a difference.

Slightly more effort, much more speed.

the drawback would be if you pound your drive (I'm guessing you don't). If you move at 5+ all the time, you will damage your drive. If you use less effort, it will last.

I have the turbo's on my outback and love them a little more effort but I don't have to pedle as fast to mantain my speed they also have a ST fin if you want something in the middle.

Thanks Men, Just have to get a Outback to put them in. Is it harder,because of the shape & width of the Yak? There 33 in wide I think, Rev about 29? Sully60 (Outback Scouting ) :D :D :D

It's not harder because of the width of the Yak it's harder because there is a bigger surface area on the turbo fins then the standard fins therefore pushing more water. If you get a 09 or newer outback and want to come to the nortshore you can borrow my drive for a test spin and try the turbos before you buy :D

I bought the turbos when I bought the yak therefor never felt the differance

Untill I switched to let someone try The regular ones felt like the chain fell off the bike peddiling

Sully, I would strongly recomend the turbo fins. The only problem for you that I can see is that you need a boat to put them on :lol:

hey sully i've got an outback and a mirage drive with turbos and another with standards, if we ever get a warm spell you can test peddal 'em. i'd wait till after christmas till you start talking turkey with dealers for your outback. also keep your eye on craigslist...........................rick

Be nice,I don't make 1200-1300 a wk like you Guys,I'm on a fixed Income,& have to pay my Health Ins also now. ( I"M an Old man) I'll be in a Hobie --- just wish I spent $500 more & got one Last Spring,I just didn't know..I love my Ok Tri Pro Ang, 13 & 11 fters ,there are Great Boats, Very Sea Worthy but going to sell them,& get 2 Hobies. With this Hernia I think Peddling will be easier than paddling. Later, Hobie Wantabee, Sully60 :D :D :D
