PLEASE POST REEL REPAIR LINKS HERE

Postby GBT » Wed Mar 26, 2008 11:01 am

Hi Folks,

In the recent poll about reel repair a there were some great online resources posted and also some interest in creating a sticky with all of these links combined into one post. What I would like to do is make a sticky post similar to the colored text below which are links to the online info.

I've got all the links form the poll and would like to add any more that people have stashed away in their bookmarks folder. Please submit these in follow up post and I will go ahead and create the sticky. I also plan on soliciting members of other sites as well so we can get a comprehensive list.

Thanks Eric,

Do you have a link to an online version of this or other info? One or two .PDF's is probably OK but in the interest of disk space I would rather have links to these.

Thanks Again.

That's OK Eric

Tomo, thanks

I think posting links to online resources is fine since we've beeing doing this all along.

We probably do not want to get into storing materials or posting links to scanned stuff that could be copywrited so lets just keep this to already existing Internet links published by non NEKF'ers for now.

I may be being a bit paranoid but want to double check with upper mgt. on this ;-)

The place for everything Penn:

http://store.scottsbt.com/Penn-Parts-Ho ... -W7C1.aspx

They have schematics, and parts for old and rare reels, like the 4-AR fly reel I used to own (parts for which couldn't be found *anywhere* else). Also a lefty conversion kit for my 113H :D

Bearing source.

Postby medburd » Wed Apr 02, 2008 8:07 pm

replace those tired & worn bearings or bushings. It has a small cross referencing chart for popular manufacturers as well.

http://www.bocabearings.com/default.aspx and another link to their fishing reel bearings catalog http://www.bocabearings.com/docs/pdfs/Fishing.pdf

they have a ton more than what they list for just fishing..I was able to find a bearing that fit the spool on the calcutta 251 my buddy owns that I couldn't find anywhere for less than $20..got it for $6.95
Take a man fishing and he could have food for a day....teach a man how to kayak fish and he could be towed by a seal!
