Hello,
I currently looking at and deciding between the Penn Slammer 360 and the Penn 430SSG.
I checked out the Penn site. Read up on the specs of the two.
Has anyone purchased one this winter or have any comments on the two reels?
Thanks
Bri

I have a couple of Penn Slammers that have seen a lot of use and abuse and I haven't had a single problem. I admit that I drop them off at Surfland for a little TLC tune up each winter. Don't know if they need it but it gets me out of the house to talk fishing once for the drop off and once for the pick up. At the pickup Billy re-spools the line and I'm good for the season.

I like the slammers, they take a beating. I like the drag on them also.
....Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right

the new penns are all china made.... If you can find a leftover USA made Penn Reel, you'll be a lot happier. I have heard a lot of people are having trouble with the new reels. Shimano is still producing a great product..
