Berkley Big Game Lip Grip

Postby snap » Thu Aug 11, 2005 4:07 pm

Thanks for all the feedback guys...I picked up the Berkley Big Game Lip Grip (the shorter one) today at West Marine in Woburn for $37.95 total price. Hopefully I will have some cows to report from my trip to Scarborough, Maine. I hope everyone has a safe trip to the HABAS Friday & Saturday. Be safe.

Smart move seadog, they all suck. Get a hand gaff and needle nose pliers. Anyone want one I have two, one with a scale the other with out. Will trade.

This might be a stupid question, but, how do you gaff a fish you want to release?

Anyone try using a lip spreader?

Either through the mouth and out the lower jaw or into the lower jaw and out the mouth. I hand lip all my fish on the tube, but multiple trebles and feisty blues get the gaff through the mouth/jaw. They are fine! The hole is small, no larger than some of the hook holes I see in fish. Alot of times with blues I just grab them by the eye sockets, but thats just me.
