well took it out for it's initial trip..worked like a champ. Only tweak will be shortening the 1/2" piece of PVC that goes from the mount to the bottom of the T-fitting..I found that when paddling at a fast pace the down tube that has the transducer attached to it gets sucks down thus forcing the top assy to come out of base.

Nice and it sounds like an easy fix also. I am supposed ti go chase pike tuesday if the ice is off the lake enough and the weather stays calm. Cant wait try it.
