first grip

    I am working on a 10' 3/4 wt switch rod and thought it would be fun to take a shot at turning my own grip. I made a jig for slicing the cork for the inset bands and ran them through a band saw, seemed to work pretty well. Happy with the end product for the most part, time to start wrapping guides!

    Nice work! The hackle above the foregrip is really cool.

    What kind of blank is it? I really like the burnt orange look. Kinda looks like fiberglass--is it?

    Yes, it is fiberglass, from The Angler's Roost.
